Risk Acknowledgement

Surfing holidays, like many adventure and sporting activities especially water-based ones, include a certain degree of risk. Kura Kura Surf Camp is not liable for any accidents, injuries or death that may occur during surfing and surfing-related activities. There are clinics in Kuta and hospital in Mataram where we are able to assist in case emergencies. Please make sure you have a good medical insurance to cover any health related issues that might arise during your travels.

Loss, Damages and Injuries

Kura Kura Surf Camp is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal goods. Kura Kura Surf Camp is not liable for damages and/or personal injuries.

Although we can arrange rentals of cars, motorbikes and scooters, please bear in mind that we are not the party that actually rent these vehicles. We cannot, therefore, be held responsible for any accident or injuries resulting from the state, quality or operability of any such vehicles. Most vehicles are rented out by local people where insurance are not included, again, which is why having a good travel insurance is very important. Remember to check the conditions of the vehicles before agreeing to it, and make sure to always park in places where you will have to pay parking. The cost of 10,000IDR weighs far less than the cost of a lost scooter.

Bad conditions

Kura Kura Surf Camp is not responsible for poor surfing conditions. We will try our best to look for surf spots that are suited to conditions of the day and your level. However, sometimes our plans may not work out as expected due to poor conditions or low quality waves that makes it difficult or impossible to surf, and unfortunately we are unable to control nor predict these factors.

Force Majeure

Kura Kura Surf Camp is not responsible and cannot pay for compensation in situations that are beyond our control, where the performance of the contract is affected by circumstances which amount to "force majeure". Circumstances amounting to "force majeure" includes any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. These circumstances include, but not limited to, earthquake, volcano eruption, flights affected by volcano smoke, flood, landslide, tsunami, storm, civil strife, fire, war or threat of war, actual or threaten terrorist activity, epidemic, pandemic or similar situations beyond our control.

Directions and Instructions

In the line up, please stay close to our guides as they will take you to the right spots, especially if you are a beginner or intermediate surfers. They can be shy in the beginning, so don't be afraid to ask them questions or feedback.

Our surf guides and general manager reserves the right to decide which surf spot to go to, how you are separated into groups of beginner and intermediate/advance based on your surf experience, and in special circumstances due to extremely poor surf conditions, may combine all guests to surf in a same spot despite of the mixed levels, i.e. beginners, intermediates and advanced.

Surfboards

All bookings are subject to a €20 non-refundable board insurance fee. If this fee has been prepaid at time of booking, no additional charge will be incurred.

If board insurance fee has not been paid and you incur any board damage during your stay, you will be charged €20 at time of checkout (appx. 350,000IDR).

Board insurance only covers your own board - if there is damage to another surfer's board in the water, this is not covered by us.

In the unlikely event of a snapped board, we hold the right to charge you the full amount for a replacement of similar quality.

A good travel insurance policy will also be able to reimburse you for a snapped board - just another reason to be sure you get that insurance prior to your trip.

In case of a dispute, we will use the surfer rules of priority and board handling.

Surfboard use is only permitted during supervised surf sessions provided by Kura Surf.

We love our surfboards and have worked hard for our small collection.

Please handle them with care and treat them as if your own.
